At AIHR, we offer a variety of initiatives to support your ongoing wellbeing.

Open Up Mental Health Platform

It’s super important to us that we don’t just address stress and burnout when it arrives but actively prevent it. OpenUp is one great tool to support us in our mission to create awareness, break down barriers, and make mental health support accessible to our teams. You have access to free and unlimited psychological support, mindfulness coaches, and many other resources in multiple languages. You can use your sessions to discuss anything. OpenUp specialists are there to help you increase your overall wellbeing, big or small, work-related or personal matters. Just so you know, the psychologists and coaches are committed to the professional ethical code, so any information shared with them is kept confidential. You don’t need any approval from your manager or HR to access OpenUp.

Mental Health Days

Vacation is for downtime and restoration. Sick days are for physical recovery. Therefore, we also offer dedicated days when work or personal life becomes too stressful.  Our five mental health days are a way to recover and rebalance, allowing you to rest your brain and mentally decompress for those unforeseen situations that can’t be planned upfront.

Example reasons to take a mental health day:

  • You had a rough week with long days and were exhausted on Thursday, so you took Friday off. 

  • You’re going through a breakup and need a day or two to process things. 

  • You pulled an all-nighter to hit a deadline. 

  • You had a funeral of a loved one (or a pet) and need a couple of days extra. 

  • You didn't sleep because your child kept you up all night.

For long-term and systemic emotional and mental wellness challenges, e.g., burnout, please get in touch with Chloë or Bora in the People team, who will connect you with our company doctor for a diagnosis and full support plan to help you get back on your feet.

Trusted Person

Our dedicated, trusted person handles things you need to talk about in relation to your own workplace happiness or that of others. This is absolutely confidential with our in-house organizational psychologist, Gemma.

Freshly prepared daily lunch

In-house chef!  We know. It’s a luxury and one that brings the crowds to the office. Every day, Rik creates a delicious warm lunch buffet of vegetarian, vegan, and meaty dishes in our AIHR common area.

Healthy drinks & snacks

We have a supply of teas, fruits, crackers, health bars, and nuts (plus some less healthy options for chocolate lovers) in our AIHR common area, which you can help yourself to. The only thing we ask is that you are considerate of your colleagues. Don’t stockpile; let everyone have one!

Free access to the office gym & showers

Everyone has full access to the Rotterdam office gym, which is located at the Marriott Hotel on the first floor of our office building. The gym passes can be used during the work day, after work, and on the weekend! You can also use the showers if you cycle to work. The gym cards can be picked up in the People team neighbourhood.
