Vacation days
Everyone at AIHR is entitled to 26 vacation days per calendar year (based on full-time employment).

20 days
The statutory minimum for the Netherlands.

+ 6 extra days
Provided as an extra by AIHR.

Other leave
You are entitled to other type of leaves based on your life situation (birth leave, parental leave, emergency leave)

Our approach
We strongly recommend you take all your vacation days each year.
Unused vacation days
All unused holidays are carried over to the following year with expiry on July 1 (six months after the end of the year they were issued).
Would be nice, but...
it’s not possible to sell unused holidays at the end of the year 😉!
Ask for approval
All leave is booked by you and approved by your manager in our Human Resource Information System, Personio. "Other leave" is coordinated and approved on a per-case basis by your manager.
Anniversary award days
To recognize your loyalty and commitment to AIHR, we have our anniversary day program:
For each year worked, you get one extra holiday day.
These are cumulative; for example, the fourth AIHR anniversary in April would mean four extra vacation days.
This policy is uncapped. Bring on your 10th anniversary!!!

Buy five vacation days
Sometimes, you just need extra days. That's why we offer the option to purchase extra days:
Buy up to five additional vacation days per year.
Extra days expire according to the rules of play for regular days.
The cost of extra vacation days is deducted from your gross salary in the month of purchase.

Switch two public holidays
We are a very international team, and to support this, you can swap two Dutch public holidays (falling on a work day) with two days on any other day in the year to celebrate traditions of importance to you.
